Designed especially for babies under 12 months old and their carers, A Little Look at Colin McCahon explores art, sensory play and connections.
Starting with a 40-minute gallery tour led by Alice Fennessy, the programme lets parents and carers delve into the themes and ideas of Colin McCahon: A Centenary Exhibition, while allowing plenty of time to stop, chat, feed and cuddle your baby.
Colin McCahon is widely regarded as New Zealand’s foremost painter, yet his work is often challenging to unpack and understand. In this gallery tour, you will be introduced to a range of strategies for making sense of Colin McCahon’s artworks. We will also talk about ways to engage your little one with art through sensory play. The gallery tour is followed by time with Active Tots in the Te Manawa foyer.
