About the Trust

Established by Richard and Mary Earle, the Earle Creativity and Development Trust in the Manawatu and Rangitikei, is a Registered Charity under Public Trust and administered locally, that helps fund specific local projects within the arts and technical sciences.

The aim of the Trust is to provide resources that will nurture creative ideas and talent in the local Manawatu/Rangitikei community, and bring specific projects to fruition.

Richard and Mary Earle believe that “the Arts and the Sciences need to be continually replenished through creativity that is initiated and developed by active individuals and groups. But the reality is that creative people often struggle financially while they are developing new ideas and concepts, and that’s where the Trust can help”.

The Trust provides funding in two areas each year, with funding being available in alternate years. 2013 was the first year that the grant was available in the areas of “Music” and “History and Literature”. In 2014, grants were available in “Visual Arts” and “Science and Technology”. Grants will continue to be available in these areas in alternate years.

Applications for 2019 for Music and Literature & History open on 1st July and close on 2nd September 2019 at 5pm. You can apply using the online application form.
