Te Manawa : Museum Gallery Science Centre

Volunteers

There are many different opportunities for Volunteers. Here are some of the ways that Volunteers are currently helping Te Manawa.

  • Education programmes
Volunteers interested in working with school groups help children to get the most out of our education programmes. You can choose which programmes you would like to be involved with.
  • Weekends
Weekend Volunteers are important for helping visitors have a great experience. You work with the public if they need help in our exhibitions and are the first call for visitor enquiries.
  • Totaranui & Awahou South School
Totaranui is our historic cottage. Volunteers in this area help show visitors what it was like living in a house in Palmerston North 100 years ago. You can also show visitors Awahou South School, set up as it would have been at the beginning of last century.
  • "Back of House"
Volunteers interested in this area, work with our curatorial and exhibition teams on specific projects.
  • Public Programmes
Weekends, Public Holidays and School Holidays are days that we run public programmes.  We also hold a number of fundraising and exhibition events - these are all opportunities for volunteers to assist.
  • Event Assistants
We hold a number of fundraising and exhibition events that require the assistance of volunteers to help pour drinks, wait on tables and help clean up afterwards. A great time of working together and supporting Te Manawa.
If you would like to become a volunteer please contact the co-ordinator by phone 06 355 5000 or e-mail enquiries@temanawa.co.nz
