Migrating Kitchens is developed in partnership with local ethnic groups to celebrate the cultural identity and heritage of immigrant communities. The exhibition showcases the culture, festivals, families and food of six local ethnic communities.

Step inside the kitchens of immigrant communities who have made New Zealand their home.

REEL EARTH ENVIRONMENTAL FILM FESTIVAL SCHOOL PROGRAMME

Reel Earth and Te Manawa are combining again, to provide an opportunity for school students to view films from Reel Earth's 8th season. Classes will be able to visit Te Manawa to view a selection of quality environmental films. In addition to providing screenings, there will also be environmental education programmes linked to the films.


TOP secondary ART

4 February - 4 March

Top Secondary Art is a unique showcase featuring the highest achieving NCEA Level 3 students from the Manawatu region. The exhibition provides the opportunity to see the portfolio boards from concept development drawings to the final art works.

Students explore contemporary subjects through mediums such as sculpture, design, photography, printmaking and painting.

bodytok QUINTET 

11 February - 6 May

Bodytok

Bodytok Quintet is a video and sound installation with an interactive element developed by Auckland based artist Phil Dadson. The exhibition is based around the idea of the human instrument, a collection of recordings of the unique sounds people can produce with only their bodies. The results range from surprising and comical to quirky, edifying and entertaining.
