Colin McVicar Library: Colin McVicar LibraryColin McVicar Library
Colin McVicar was a Museum Society member who had a vision to see a good library attached to the Manawatū Museum. As a result Mr. McVicar bequeathed what amounts to 40% of the books in the library. Since that time the library has grown and it now holds a good collection including Manawatū and New Zealand history, Maori and pacific history and ethnology. There is also a photographic collection and a small amount of archival material in the library, including the Glaxo and Hopwood archives.
The library is available for the use of researchers and students. To arrange a visit, contact our Reception staff
