A Story to Tell
How do artists communicate a message? Does all art have a story to tell? This programme looks at the way art has been used to tell stories through the ages. Students will engage with various types of art, using works on display and from the gallery's collection. We focus on symbolism and other visual story telling techniques used to make an artwork "speak" to us. This is followed by a practical art experience using aboriginal and cave art, or text in art, as our inspiration.
